Product Description

A stroke is a brain attack, which can affect thinking, movement, speech and/or senses, and is caused by blockage or rupture of a blood vessel within or surrounding the brain.

Approximately 48,000 Australians a year experience a stroke. More than 50% occur in people over the age of 75 and around 5% of strokes occur in people under
45. Despite this, strokes can occur at any age; even in babies and infants. The majority of people who have a stroke survive, however the most common form of acquired brain injury (ABI) is stroke.

The aftermath of stroke can be very stressful for someone having to adjust to sudden changes in their life, and for their loved ones. ‘Speaking from Experience’ offers first hand accounts from those who are dealing with these issues
